Different sociologists have different views about the amount of harmony or conflict in a society. There are two main conflict theories, Marxism and Action theory. Also religion is a factor. Some religions in a society may not understand each others beliefs, therefore there will be tension in that society, each religion will think that there beliefs are the right ones. This will also create tension and conflict between those religious groups within a society.
