Britain began
Many colonists of this time were unhappy with the way England was governing America. The British Statesman, Edmund Burke, greatly empathized with the Americans. Despite being British, he shared the interests of the Americans. He often spoke, defending the colonies, in front of the Parliament. He questioned how the English could govern a group not represented in the Parliament as well as arguing the senseless taxes levied upon the Americans.
