The Passage that I feel is not only thought provoking, but also ironic in the play Hamlet, is when Ophelia has found out about her father’s murder and is beginning to act mad. This passage is in Act Four, Scene Five beginning on line 171 and continuing through line 207.
They bore him barefaced on the bier,
Hey non nonny, nonny, hey nonny,
And in his grave rained many a tear.

could clearly depict what her message meant. I feel that this passage was important in understanding why the story gained so much intensity, and then everything just came crashing to a brutal end. I also feel that this passage was important in understanding peoples’ words and actions in the play. Being able to relate this passage to modern times has also shown why it is necessary to be able to have the same understanding today.
