Throughout the novel, A Raisin in the Sun, Beneatha Younger remains a strong woman with fortified views. She looks at people for who they truly are, has intellectual pride for her studies, questions everything including God, and she admirably cuts all her hair off for the sake of being true to her roots. Beneatha’s character represents a strong woman, but it is a pity that there were not more woman like her back in the 1950s. However, I believe many women are able to relate to Beneatha Younger for various reasons. Whatever that reason may be, I can see why women do.
