Throughout the play, the author shows the different way Nora acts when Torvald’s not around. The whole time she is searching for her own independence. When Nora closes the door of the house, it’s as if she opens the door on a new life for herself. Though it might be difficult to walk out on her children, she left the wrath of Torvald for her own freedom.
